Tips for better childhood nutrition

  • Parents decide what to eat and when to eat.
  • Kids decide how much to eat.
  • Offer lots of fruits and vegetables.
  • Avoid salty snacks, sweets, juice, soda and fried foods.
  • Don't overfeed; a normal portion size is the as big as a child's fist.
  • Limit snacks.
  • Limit TV and videos to no more than 1-2 hours per day.
  • Have regular family meals.
