Why is it important to help my child get over anxiety?

  • When children avoid things that they are scared about, they don't gain "life skills"
  • When children don't gain "life skills", they remain dependent on their parents
  • Eventually, they may be unable to function as an adult without these skills
  • Children who don't develop skills, or learn to cope with their fears often feel badly about themselves
  • Eventually, children will view themselves as failures and will have low self esteem
  • It is important for parents to help their children face their fears to avoid this
  • However, parents must be able to respect their child's fears and help them face it gently
