Regular and relaxed mealtimes are an important part of being a family. They are a time to talk with your children and share stories. Experts advise some things you can do at mealtime to prevent eating disorders.

  • Offer a balanced meal.
  • Don't force your children to consume everything on their plate. Let your child decide when they are full.
  • Don't label some foods "good" and others "bad".
  • Talk and have fun with your children. Avoid sensitive topics.
  • For young children small amounts of sweets are okay. Just offer them sparingly.
  • Avoid criticizing your child for their food choices.
