Description

Howard County Youth Hockey Club (HCYHC) Home of the Howard Huskies. It will be the mission of the HCYHC to provide every member the opportunity to participate in the game of ice hockey in an environment designed to enhance their enjoyment and continued participation in the game. The club will strive to achieve this by providing a comprehensive hockey program that recognizes the training needs of members of different age and skill levels. Emphasis is to be placed on teaching teamwork, improving skills, providing players a competitive environment tailored to their individual abilities and the constant molding of character and good sportsmanship. It is the responsibility of the board of directors of to develop and implement those programs it deems appropriate to the fulfillment of this mission. In the development of all its' programs, the club will be guided by the training philosophy of USA Hockey, the governing body of amateur hockey in the United States.

Eligibility Requirements

Special equipment is required for inclusion. This equipment is NOT optional and is for the protection of the players. All equipment can be purchased at various sports websites, or your local sports store. Helmet with Protective Mask - HECC Approved Jock Cup and Supporter, Garter Belt, Hockey Jock (in Place of 2 & 3), Hard Shin Guards (Not Soccer shin guards), Hockey Pants, Suspenders (not Grandpa's),Ice Hockey Elbow Pads-(Not Rollerblade or soft pads), Hockey Shoulder Pads, Throat/Neck Protector Hockey Gloves, Skates (Sharpen Periodically. .ie. once a month minimum), Mouth Guard - NOTE: Please heat mouth guard to fit player's mouth as directed by the vendor of the mouth guard. As player loses teeth (through age), you may need to replace or re-fit mouth guard. Hockey Stick, Tape (to tighten any equipment to keep in place if necessary), Socks and Jersey.
