Description

The Teen Adventure Explorer (TAE) Program is an innovative and physically challenging four week experience. It is an off shoot of NC's Appalachian Journey, a ten day cultural experience in the deep mountains of West Virginia. Focus is upon affirming individual strengths, engendering compassionate behavior, and bringing forth environmental stewardship. Teens feel the power of tradition and community during their engaging time with their peers.

Teen Adventure is a four-week program. Two weeks are spent at NC Day Camp in the TA Explorer Program. The other two weeks involve two five-day away trips (M-F), one at Spoutwood Organic Farm in Glen Rock, PA, and the other in the Western Pennsylvania Laurel Highlands. Assignment of which weeks teens go away, depend depend if they were a TA Explorer before, upon time of enrollment, limited group size (10), and parent preference. (Based upon limited group size, returning TA Explorers will be away the first two weeks). Two certified trip leaders lead the small group of ten teenagers.

Costs

$1025. per four-week session.
