Program
The Mood Disorders in Adolescents and Young Adults Program (MAP) at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is a specialized treatment program for adolescents and young adults (ages 12-22 years old) who are currently experiencing mood or anxiety symptoms. The program is run by a multi-disciplinary team with significant expertise and experience providing evaluation and ongoing outpatient treatment.

Psychiatric evaluation Individual psychotherapy Family psychotherapy Group psychotherapy Psychopharmacologic (medication) management and optimization Collaboration with families, schools, and other medical providers Referral and collaboration with acute care providers as needed Access to after hours and weekend on-call crisis services Access to a continuum of care treatment (i.e., intensive outpatient services) Research opportunities Consultation and second opinion diagnostic evaluation
MAP treats adolescents and young adults, ages 12 to 22, with diagnoses of: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) Bipolar I Disorder Bipolar II Disorder Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Dysthymic Disorder No substance abuse No unmanaged major medical illness
