Program
The Children's Center is an intensive outpatient program for children ages 5-12. The program provides a level of care between traditional outpatient therapy and day hospital treatment. The purpose of the Children's Center is to provide psychiatric stabilization and prevent inpatient hospitalization. A child typically participates in the program for 4-6 weeks and then returns to their previous outpatient therapist and psychiatrist. Each child who attends the Children's Center receives a diagnostic and psychosocial evaluation, an occupational therapy assessment, and medication evaluation. For the duration of the program, the child attends three therapeutic groups daily and one individual session with a licensed therapist weekly. Guardians of the child attend weekly appointments with a psychiatrist, weekly family therapy sessions with a licensed therapist, and weekly parenting groups with the program's supervisor. The licensed therapists collaborate with each child's school, previous service providers, and family in order to improve the child's behavioral, educational, and emotional well being. Therapists also initiate connections with new service providers for the benefit of the child and his/her family.
Various insurances are accepted, including Medical Assistance, Medicare, and some private insurance, which authorize intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment. Insurance coverage will be verified prior to your first appointment.
