Social Skills Group

Social skills groups can help your child learn how to interact with other kids and adults. Your child can practice making eye contact, shaking hands, introducing themselves to others, initiating conversations and how to handle common problems in interacting with others. It's important for kids with ASD to practice social skills with others, not just with parents, because this will help them learn the best.

Your child's school may have social skills groups. Local therapists often run groups also. Your local autism society will have lists of local organizations that can help, or you can visit www.autismspeaks.org
