Karate and other martial arts are a great form of exercise. Some parents worry that karate will make their children more aggressive. In fact, karate helps children learn self-control and discipline. A good karate instructor will not encourage aggression or violence. Kids who learn karate often report feeling stronger and more confident, which makes them less likely to get teased or bullied. Many karate studios offer transportation and help kids do homework.
