Talking to your teenager about sex

Talking to your teenager about sex

Kids who talk to their parents about sex are less likely to get involved in risky behaviors. It's true! Talking to your kids about sex can really make a difference. Sometimes it is uncomfortable to bring it up. Sometimes your teen will complain. But the more you do it, the easy it gets. As the parent it is your responsibility to take the first step. You can even let your teenager know how you feel. You might say, "You know, it is a little uncomfortable for me to talk about sex with you. But I think it is really important. I want you to feel like you can come to me with any questions you have." If you don't have an answer right away, tell your teenager you'll find the answer.
