Summer Science Fun

Resource Type

Program

Description

Become a scientist this summer while exploring subjects in the Life, Physical and Environmental Sciences. In this completely hands-on, one week camp, participants will explore engineering while designing and building structures using huge torpedo balloons as well as constructing model rockets for launching. They'll experience what it feels like to be a biologist while classifying animals from Garrison Forest's pond, and combing the woods for animal tracks and bird identifications. It won't be Mt. Vesuvius, but campers will mix concoctions for erupting out of small, student-made volcanoes as we learn about the Earth's interior during some environmental studies. Science camp promises to be an exciting week of creative, diverse activities that will spark children's imaginations and interests. A snack will be provided. -- from the website
