Maryland New Directions, Inc., is a private non-profit career counseling and job placement agency dedicated to helping individuals become contributing members of their community. Founded in 1973 as Baltimore New Directions for Women, the 33 year-old agency has helped more than 130,000 clients make positive, employment related life changes.

Career counseling and employment assistance. Special programs for displaced homemakers and youth. Career Focus: Our long standing career counseling and job readiness program that helps unemployed and underemployed job seekers gain the tools they need for a successful entry into satisfying and self sustaining employment. Career Discovery: A program that promotes self-sufficiency by helping single heads of household and those impacted by separation, divorce, widowhood, or the disability of a family member, to discover their career potential and find employment. Second Chance: A comprehensive employment program for female ex- offenders helping them to deal with their barriers to employment and identify career paths and employment opportunities leading to full-time, self-sustaining employment. Adult literacy: GED tutoring for adults who have dropped out of school or have not succeeded in traditional classroom setting. Offers one-on-one or small ratio group tutoring on GED test preparation.
