Baltimore County Public Schools - Rosedale Center for Alternative Studies

Resource Type

Program

Description

The alternative programs at the Rosedale Center serve students in grades 6-12, from the Northeast and Central areas of Baltimore County. These are students who have not found success in a regular setting, for a variety of reasons, and need to improve social behaviors in order to return to a regular comprehensive program. The Center offers academic, vocational, and social/emotional experiences designed to help youths acquire the attitude, skills, and behaviors necessary to succeed. The academic program follows the Baltimore County Public Schools Essential Curriculum, and is individualized to meet each student's need and program. The therapeutic program provides counseling, crisis intervention, assessments, family support, and community referrals. A character education program encourages good decision making skills and positive values. A behavior modification program leads the student through a series of levels, and ultimately, to the successful return to their home School.
