Description

Camp Allen has 70 acres of land with a pond, open spaces and woodlands with trails. There are 25 buildings including program areas, dormitories, cabins, a dining hall, chapel, shower houses, a health center, laundry room, staff cabins and a director's residence. The grounds are accessible for campers using wheelchairs. The camp has paved walkways, ramped doorways, modified bathrooms and an accessible swimming pool. Camp Allen is a residential summer camp for individuals with disabilities.

Services Provided

The activities include: * Aquatics * Arts * Games * Nature and Animal Programs Special events, evening programs, and field trips are scheduled throughout the summer and are structured to meet the individual abilities and needs of each camper. The staff consists of 45 members who are experienced in providing services to individuals with disabilities and all have experience in a camping environment. The staff shares cabins and dormitories with campers and provides continuous supervision. There is a 1:3 staff to camper ratio. Camp Allen has an on-site Health Center that is fully equipped and staffed with registered nurses.

Eligibility Requirements

Campers range from age 6 through adult who have developmental or physical disabilities.
