Program
A primary focus of the program is to help develop and sustain the interests of women in engineering and the sciences. The program allows you to explore applications of engineering, math, and science in a way that is fun and exciting. You will spend the majority of your time involved in hands-on activities designed to increase your interest in and knowledge of applications of engineering, math, and science to real world situations. The target population for the program is rising junior and senior high school girls.

Center for Enhancement of Engineering Diversity was established in 1992 to develop strategies and implement programs to increase diversity in engineering. To fulfill these goals, the Center provides advising, counseling and other support services to all under-represented student populations. Support services include mentoring, academic and professional development workshops, tutoring, and summer pre-college programs.
The Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity in the College of Engineering is sponsoring a summer program for rising women, juniors and seniors (that is students who will graduate from high school in spring 2006 and 2007).
Program cost is $500 for two weeks, covering all expenses except transportation to and from Virginia Tech and personal expenses. Typical student personal expenses include laundry and entertainment such as movies. A limited number of full/partial scholarships are available based on financial need. Potential applicants should not allow program costs to affect their decision to apply.
