Description

The purpose of Mobile Crisis Teams is to avoid hospitalization by diverting individuals to crisis services when indicated. Typically, the services are provided where the individual is located, including the individual's home. Services Provided

B-CARS provides crisis services to people under 18 years old who are having a psychiatric crisis and who are residents of Baltimore City. B-CARS provides crisis services to youths in their homes. B-CARS helps arrange for any other necessary services. B-CARS provides follow-up services to youths who have been discharged from a hospital. B-CARS takes calls 24 hours a day everyday. Emergency Department personnel can call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The crisis teams will go to where the youth is located, including the home, the emergency department, a clinic or other locations.
