Description

For the seventh year, Dr. Chahira Kozma continues to serve as the medical director for the Art and Drama therapy Institute (ADTI), a day treatment program for persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. The ADTI is located in Northeast Washington, D.C. It serves close to 140 clients.

Services Provided

The ADTI uses a unique approach in the care and treatment of its clients through the use of: Art, music, movements, drama therapies, innovative behavior management techniques. Dr. Kozma's responsibilities include: development of medical policy, close monitoring of the clients in collaboration with the nursing staff signing the Individual Program Plan for each client, consultation to the family support group serving on various medical and developmental teams (Management Team, clinical Team, Feeding Team, Incident Reporting Team, etc.), participating in client conferences coordinating and providing periodic in-services to furnish updated information regarding new developments in medicine, genetics, infectious diseases, and the field of developmental disabilities.
