Description

Provides services to individuals and groups to improve community relations. Offers training in communication effectiveness and workshops to promote understanding between people of different cultures who live in the same neighborhood. The Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program provides a voluntary mediation process through which neighbors can resolve differences. Also investigates complaints of discriminatory practices through which neighbors can resolve differences. Also investigates complaints of discriminatory practices through its housing, employment, finance/credit and public accomodations divisions and resolves them through mediation and public hearings. Law enforcement division investigates complaints against officers of the Prince George's Coutny Police Department in areas of harrassment, excessive force or abusive language. Volunteers, ages 18 and older, welcome.
