Being able to read fluently means that a child can decode individual words accurately, quickly, and with understanding. Hosted by Deborah Norville, this program offers teachers and parents different fluency strategies that lead to better reading comprehension. ìFluent Readingî is a 30-minute program in the Launching Young Readers series that demonstrates how early testing and intervention can help struggling readers. It also explores how the ability to read fluently is tied to reading with understanding. This program features a visit with childrenís book author and illustrator Kate Duke, the creator of Aunt Isabel Tells a Good One.
