A major goal of the MHSA is to reduce long-term adverse community impacts of untreated mental illness, such as homelessness, institutionalization, incarceration and out-of-home placement. Based on the MHSA requirements and the community findings, the El Dorado application for the $1,423,300 annual MHSA allocation proposes five programs: ? Wraparound Services for uninsured youth at risk of out-of-home placement, ? Mental Health Court for transitional age youth and adults in South Lake Tahoe, ? Integrated services program which includes housing for transitional age youth and adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness at the Western Slope, ? Mobile treatment team for older adults, ? Latino Engagement Initiative offering outreach, peer counseling, and bilingual/bicultural mental health services in a community-based model.
