Description

Learning how to read isn't like learning how to talk or learning how to walk. Reading doesnít just happen, it has to be taught. Hosted by Fred Rogers, this program shows how the early years are learning years. Roots of Reading is a 30-minute program in the Launching Young Readers series that examines how parents and other teachers and caregivers can get children started on the road to literacy. You'll learn that simple things make a big difference, and that what parents and caregivers choose to do definitely has an impact. The program also features a visit with children's book author and illustrator Rosemary Wells, the beloved creator of Max and Ruby and Timothy Goes to School.
