Buprenorphine's Role in Opiate Treatment

Info for Clinician

Description

In the interest of preparing counselors to assist physicians in the direct care for the opiate addicted individuals, NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, offers this training manual as a supplement to our workshop presentations. Due to the dynamic nature of addictions treatment, this document should be used as a guide rather than a definitive reference. This manual includes various chapters created to guide the addiction professional through the stages of treatment of an opiate addict and an introduction to Buprenorphine. The attached appendices include assessment tools, reference guides, and data on Buprenorphine that will enable the clinician to better serve their clientele. Due to the relatively new use of Buprenorphine for treatment of opiate addiction, this guide is a must have for addiction professionals working with opiate addicted individuals.
