Description

4-H creates innovative programs that meet the evolving needs of our nation's diverse suburban and urban youth while continuing to fulfill the needs of young citizens in rural America. 4-H involves youth in self-determined, hands-on learning activities such as workforce skills, citizenship, public speaking and other local 4-H program areas. Youth use their own learning styles and participate at their own pace in a wide variety of projects and activities. The Maryland 4-H Center is located in College Park, Maryland at the University of Maryland. Dedicated in 1989, the building is an inviting, state of the art home for Maryland's diverse 4-H education programs. The building houses Extension faculty with 4-H & Youth Development responsibilities. The Maryland 4-H Foundation is also located at the center. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to financially supporting the educational activities of the Maryland 4-H & Youth Development Program.
