Resource Type

Video - Parent

Description

"This program recognizes the importance of early identification of hearing loss, particularly in infants with severe and multiple disabilities. A pediatric audiologist demonstrates selected auditory tests (Behavioral Observation Audiometry, Visual Reinforcement Audiometry, Auditory Brainstem Response, Otoacoustic Emissions) for infants under 24 months. The tape shows an early interventionist obtaining functional hearing information with an infant who is deaf/blind through structured observation in the home and parent interview. The mothers and early interventionists of three infants with different types of hearing loss discuss their infants' listening and communication skills." -Child Development Media, Inc.
