Description

This program is designed for adults and kids grades 5 and up. Let your creative juices run wild and explore the exciting world of fiber arts. Learn how to weave a belt on an inkle loom, and create an accent pillow for your room using different fabrics, beads and gems to embellish the pillow that you have designed. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn to knit. The class will provide an outlet for creativity and fun.

Services Provided

Projects will include: Creating a colorful belt on an inkle loom. You will select yarns, learn how to prepare the loom, and have the opportunity to take the loom home to complete the project. Learning how to operate a sewing machine safely; designing, creating and sewing your very own pillow. This will be followed up with a decorating session, and the student will learn how to complete the project with decorative hand stitches. Making your own knitting needles out of chopsticks. You will learn the basic steps in knitting, and begin the process of handcrafting a beautiful scarf. *This camp is held July 12 - 22.
