Created especially for parents, this package provides an overview of the Developing Minds series and emphasizes ways in which parents can help children with learning difficulties. The Parentís Pack includes two videos and guides. The Introduction for Parents video and guide introduces parents to the philosophy and conceptual framework of Dr. Mel Levine and his colleagues at the All Kinds of Minds Institute. Parents will gain insight into key neurodevelopmental areas that underlie a child's learning and development and impact his or her ability to succeed in school. The General Strategies for Parents video and guide features interviews with children and early adolescents struggling with learning problems. Parents will learn about a systematic process for understanding and managing a childís learning strengths and weaknesses, and will watch as parents, educators, and children collaborate to gather information and develop an educational plan that addresses his or her learning differences.
