ADHD: Treatment through Nutrition

ADHD: Treatment through Nutrition

Many parents have tried to control their children's diet before seeking help for the ADHD. Few nutritional treatments and dietary changes have been shown to help ADHD children. The small effects shown by a few studies have never been as significant as the effects shown with medication. Thus, delaying well-known treatment while adjusting your child's diet may hurt your child. If you decide you want to try a dietary change, check with your doctor to be sure it will not harm your child's general health. Also, ask the teacher about your child's behavior when the teacher is not aware of the changes. This may help you to find out if the changes are really working.
