Description

Youth As Resources is Baltimore's youth-led grant making organization. Youth As Resources reverses traditional programming and involves youth that are often overlooked and would not necessarily become involved in grant making, project planning, leadership, and community problem solving. We have become decision makers in our own neighborhoods and institutions by creating and implementing projects as well as by being in charge of distributing funds and building the organization that provides the resources to do so. Youth As Resources (YAR) focuses on youth-led grant making and leadership development primarily in Baltimore's most challenged neighborhoods. YAR makes grants for youth created and carried out neighborhood building projects. Since its inception, Youth As Resources had completed 16 funding cycles, making grants to 167 youth-led community improvement projects.
