Description

Dyslexia Tutoring Program provides screening, remedial tutoring, information, and referral for educational and vocational help. The program was started when a group of concerned citizens who had noticed a pattern with repeat youthful offenders that was related to their difficulties with reading and processing language. The Program now serves low-income people aged 6 through adulthood.

Services Provided

One-on-one tutoring in reading, writing, and spelling. To teach reading the Dyslexia Tutoring Program uses a multisensory approach called the Orton-Gillingham method.

Eligibility Requirements

Primarily low-income.

Areas Served

The office, screening and tutoring rooms are in The Rotunda on W. 40th Street in Baltimore City. Additional tutoring sites are in surrounding areas.

Costs

Services are free of charge provided income guidelines are met.
