A note about alcohol or drugs

A note about alcohol or drugs

You reported you have not gotten help with using alcohol or drugs because you do not have child care. Not having child care can certainly make it feel impossible to find time to get help. In order to find child care, you may need to confide in friends and family about your need for help. If there is any time at all that child care is available to you, you should know that there may be help out there that is flexible with your schedule. Sometimes there are even programs that provide child care. Learning about programs in your area is the only way for you to know if you can overcome the obstacle of not having child care. Your health and well-being should certainly be a priority as it is hard to be a good parent if you are using alcohol or drugs. A good place to start finding help that works for you may be asking your doctor or your child's doctor for referrals.
