Media and Sleep

The light and sounds from electronic devices, like televisions and smartphones, can interrupt the sleep cycle. Starting from a young age, develop and enforce rules about media usage. Aside from schoolwork, do not allow media usage during the week. Do not allow electronics in the bedroom. If you cannot move the television, try removing the power cord at night instead. Setting limits early will help avoid power struggles and conflict about electronics when your child gets older.
