Activities like boy scouts, girl scouts and other youth service organizations provide social opportunities for kids with adult supervision. Kids can learn valuable skills, like sewing, survival skills and first aid. Many organizations also encourage community service, which can help your child develop self-esteem and empathy for others. The opportunity to earn badges can teach children how to set goals and work towards them.
