Description

Girls entering 4th-12th grade (Fall 2004). Learn the fundamentals of small boat sailing while cruising the mouth of the beautiful Gunpowder River! Discover the incredible fun and independence all sailors enjoy while learning boat handling skills, rigging, boarding, launching, safety and self-rescue. Certified sailing instructors will give you the comfort and education you really want as you enter into this brave new world of the Chesapeake Bay! This program allows interested girls to work toward the Water Fun badge for Junior Girl Scouts or the Smooth Sailing IPA for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts. Basic swimming skills,water sport booties, swimsuit, sunblock, and a beach towel are necessary.
