Description

Girls entering 4th-12th grade (Fall 2004) Learn the fundamentals of kayaking with certified kayak nstructors while enjoying some of the Chesapeake's most beautiful and pristine tributaries! Discover the flora and fauna of the Gunpowder River while learning paddling skills, water safety, self-rescue, boarding and exiting your kayak. Blue heron, bald eagles, turtles, deer and red fox are just some of the spectacular sights you'll see on your kayak eco-tour! This program allows interested girls to work toward the Water Fun badge for Junior Girl Scouts or both the Watersports and Paddle, Pole, and Roll IPAs for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts. Basic swimming skills,water sport booties, swimsuit, sunblock, and a beach towel are necessary.
