The Pregnancy Center is an all volunteer independent, non-profit organization. It is chartered by the state of Maryland as a charitable corporation to provide counseling, resource services, and practical needs to women with crisis pregnancies. By reaching out to these women we have realized most would rather not have an abortion. Our goal is to present realistic alternatives. Each young woman who comes to our center is encouraged to make her own decision. When she is pregnant unexpectedly, we encourage her to listen to her own heart; when she is not pregnant, we challenge her to evaluate her sexual behavior in accordance with her values and those of her parents. Through our individual attention many women have realized that abortion is not their only "choice" and many have chosen life for their babies as well as accomplishing other life goals. Pregnancy Center West promotes the concept of "new life" for both mother and child.
