Chesapeake Celebrations

Resource Type

Program

Description

Motivation Education celebrates the Chesapeake Bay by mixing Bay ecology and history into an exciting set of simulations and hands-on action. You will go tonging for oysters, feed algae to any oyster, light a lighthouse, survive the oyster wars, live through a nor'easter, dress like a water man, chicken fish for blue crabs, and catch and weigh a rockfish. Co-sponsored by the Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation, this is an opportunity for every young person to learn about and celebrate the nature of the Chesapeake Bay and its culture, past and present. Join us for great fun!
