Evaluate the competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility of defendants charged with violent felony offenses for the judicial circuits throughout the State, Provide the highest quality care to court-committed patients within a safe and secure environment, and Promote and support increased knowledge and understanding of mental disorders as they relate to treatment and legal issues by providing training opportunities for students in forensic mental health services and educating members of other state agencies, Maryland citizens and family members.
