What is Restless Leg Syndrome?

Restless Leg Syndrome is an irresistible urge to move one's legs. The urge usually occurs while the body is inactive and is more intense at night. Prickly sensations and involuntary leg jerking are also common symptoms. Needless to say, getting enough sleep can be difficult for those with Restless Leg Syndrome. New research suggests that the disorder is caused by certain brain cells not getting enough iron. While there is no cure, several medications may help ease symptoms. Also massage and cold compresses can help. Iron supplements may also help in the short term but should be prescribed by a doctor.
