What to Expect from Babies 0-3 Months of Age

Babies' food requirements and eating patterns change as they grow. Here is a basic outline of what to expect when babies are 0-3 months of age. The feeding needs of newborns can be hard to determine. Breastfed babies need to eat more often- as many as 14 times in 24 hours. Bottle-fed babies eat less-as many as 8 times in 24 hours. Watch your baby to learn her hunger cues. Signs that she is hungry may include: becoming more active; sucking on things; bringing hands to mouth or stomach; waking up; and crying.
