A note about how you have been feeling

You reported you have not gotten help with how you have been feeling lately because you do not want to take medications. You may be relieved to hear that not all treatments use medications. There is a very effective approach to treatment that does not use medication that is called cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT). There is a lot of scientific evidence showing that CBT really works. If you are open to trying counseling and interested in this science-based approach, a good place to start may be asking your doctor or your child's doctor for referrals to mental health professionals trained in CBT, like a psychologist, social worker, or psychiatrist. Also check out the CHADIS Care Portal Resources tab for more ideas about where to get help and strategies you can use to improve how you feel.
