A note about your child not eating as he/she should

Toddlers start eating less, not more, since they have already gotten the fat supplies they need. Always feeding at the table in a high chair for meals and snacks rather than snacking all day will help build a good appetite. While a bottle is fine at meals and bedtime, snacking on milk all day will take away appetite for food. Juice is not good for children and can also ruin appetite. Your toddler should feed himself everything and eat mainly table foods at this age as long as the food is soft enough to squash. Babies do not need teeth to do that! Ask to see the growth chart if you are worried about getting enough. They usually triple their birth weight by the first year - if this continues each year they would have a problem - so it may look like they are slowing down on intake after that age.
